After weeks of dizzying momentum and the release of his new single “HARDSTYLE 2” with KETTAMA, Fred again.. is already back with new music. Just days later, the British electronic music superstar has teamed up with Sammy Virji to drop “Talk of the Town.”
Driven by a spitfire vocal performance from Dublin rapper and singer Reggie, the high-octane house track surges forward with a gritty edge. His delivery is supported by a chugging low-end and the swing of Virji’s signature UKG bounce, delivered with the precision of a producer fresh off a career-defining body of work, September’s debut album Same Day Cleaning.
The album, which marked Virji’s first long-form offering in five years, captured his kinetic range layered with soulful warmth and melodic finesse. Those instincts carry straight into “Talk of the Town.” For Fred again.., the track slots seamlessly into the experimental universe he’s been building ahead of his next project, USB002, due out December 12th. That includes “Victory Lap” and “Back 2 Back,” (both with Skepta) and “you’re a star” (with Amyl and the Sniffers), among others.
