The latest chapter of GRiZ’s comeback campaign has officially been written.
His new single, “Light You Up,” is a collaboration with EDM.com Class of 2025 artist Tape B and vocalist CREG. Out today on major streaming platforms, the track marks another milestone in GRiZ’s monumental 2025 comeback from hiatus while further cementing Tape B’s rise as one of the bass music scene’s defining new stars.
“Light You Up” first caught fire in October during Tape B’s sold-out Red Rocks debut and reemerged shortly thereafter during GRiZ’s performance at his own Seven Stars Festival, quickly becoming one of the most anticipated unreleased tracks of the year.
The collaboration lives up to its hype, opening with airy piano chords and CREG’s enchanting vocals before erupting into a euphoric bass drop preempted by the pairing of the producers’ signature tags: “GRiZ yeah” and Tape B’s “Show ’em how it’s done.”
The result is a seamless fusion of GRiZ’s kaleidoscopic funk and Tape B’s low-end grit, a blend of brightness and weight that evokes a certain kind of mysticism. CREG’s commanding performance ties it all together, adding an emotive human touch to the heavy-hitting drops.
For GRiZ, it’s another powerful step in a year defined by creative resurgence, and for Tape B, a clear signal that his stardom is reaching new levels. Together, they continue to light the path forward for bass music’s next evolution.
