Lane 8 has returned to Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep with “Stay Still, A Little While,” an uplifting collaboration with German singer-songwriter Jyll.
The producer’s first single since the release of 2024’s Childish album, the track first surfaced during his last Red Rocks performance before appearing in his Fall 2025 Mixtape, quickly catching the attention of fans and sparking speculation about an official release.
In an Instagram post announcing the track, Lane 8 revealed it began with a rough piano sketch he recorded “mistakes and all” before sending it to Jyll, who previously joined him on the fan-favorite
“I Will Leave a Light On.”
“I wasn’t really prepared for what she sent back,” he wrote. “It’s an incredible performance and piece of writing.”
Opening in a haze of soft chords, the track builds slowly, suspended in a meditative yet uplifting calm that recalls the sound of Brightest Lights. Crisp percussion and glowing synth textures guide the arrangement into motion, shaping a sound that feels both grounded and dreamlike.
Jyll’s powerful voice beautifully carries the song’s conviction like someone choking back emotion just enough to stay composed: “I’m not scared of the ocean wide / I stay still a little while / ’cause in the end I own the night.” Drawn from the track’s title, that lyrics captures its core message about losing yourself in constant motion and finding strength in chosen stillness.
