Beyond his work as an artist, one of Nicky’s biggest contributions to the industry is his Kickstart plugin, awidely used tool that simplifies sidechain compression, a key technique in EDM production.
In 2012, Nicky founded Protocol Recordings, a label dedicated to showcasing fresh talent and exploring the boundaries of electronic music. The label has become a platform for both new talent and established artists, consistently delivering releases of high quality. Even during challenging times, Protocol has remained a driving force in the scene, helping artists reach new audiences and keeping fans engaged with innovative sounds and projects.

Then came ‘Okay,’ the track that “changed the way we listened to music” (Dancing Astronaut) and became the anthem of 2014, claiming the #1 position on Beatport’s House chart for 82 days. Upon its release, Rolling Stone deemed ‘Okay’ a “global club sensation in waiting,” a prophetic description that couldn’t have rung more true as it remains a commanding moment in DJ sets even to this day.
Shiba San’s debut release on DFTD, ‘All I Need’ with fellow Frenchman TimBaresko, dominated Beatport’s overall chart at the #1 position for over amonth. The song landed on multiple ‘Best of 2018’ lists, with notable support from influential tastemakers, such as Pete Tong, Calvin Harris, Jack Back (David Guetta), among others.
His critically acclaimed record label, Basement Leak, is home to some of the finest tech house tracks on the scene right now. Staying quiet on the public front, ShibaSan remains a curious enigma to his international fan base, allowing the music to do the talking for him. In between releases and time spent concocting in the studio, Shiba San remains a mainstay on the nightlife and festival circuit around the globe. There are no signs of slowing down for the Parisian producer.
Transmitting the glossy textures of techno, trance and experimental music, Anetha whips up bouncy basslines, stomping kickdrums, glorious melodies and a sprinkling of melancholic motifs, sharing her sound in seminal clubs and legendary festivalsworldwide. From the industrial setting of Berghain, the sleek surroundings of Hï Ibiza, the dome of Gashouder and the open-air haze of Stone Techno, Anetha has garnered a loyal audience across the Americas, Europe, Australasia and beyond. Delivering lush and luminous productions and DJ sets, the Bordeaux-based artist works with attention to detail, creative construction, and nimble mixing — as one would expect from an artist with an architectural background.
2024 marks the release of Anetha's long-awaited album on Mama told ya. The ten-track LP honours her ephemeral taste in electronic music, welding a palette of post-club, techno, trance, experimental, nu-wave, rave, and DnB, and features Anetha's own voice, literally and figuratively. The album tells the story of Anetha's trajectory so far and explores ecological awareness, femininity, toxic masculinity and unwarranted opinions in the music industry. In true Anetha style, she conveys these themes with playfulness and a touch of irony across the album.
2024 is also the year Anetha took the stage at the Closing Ceremony of the Paris Paralympics at the Stade de France, performing in front of 80 000 people and millions of viewers alongside 23 outstanding electronic music artists. Abold statement for techno, it resonated on the global stage.
Several releases colour Anetha's discography, from her debut EP 'Ophiuchus' on Berlin-based label Work Them in 2015 and a myriad of EPs, singles and remixes on imprints like Anagram and OAKS and her own label, Mama told ya.
Launched in 2019 and co-founded by Anetha and her skilled, close-knit team of friends and family, Mama told ya platforms rising stars and encourages them to express themselves through music, no matter the stage of their journey. Limited edition and earth-friendly merch, including clothing and fragrance, extends the realm of Mama told ya alongside label showcases.
And then, there's Fané.e. It's a new label from Anetha and the MTY family. Every release follows a seasonal schedule, where tracks will be available to download and stream for a finite period until blossoming once more the following season. The label aims to share high-quality, genre-fluid productionswithout the restrictions of a vinyl-led imprint and to cultivate a more environmentally friendly way to consume music.
In 2020, Anetha launched the talent agency Mama loves ya to nurture emerging artists worldwide. Whenit comes to sustainability, the agency walks the walk. Mama loves ya works with the carbon management project Greenly, helping offset, reduce and compensate for its carbon footprint and decrease CO2 emissions. Actions include implementing eco-riders and operating an open calendar on the MLY website, showing promoters where and when each artist is due to play, thus reducing travel distance between bookings.
Born in Bordeaux to nu-wave andelectroclash-inclined parents, Anetha moved to London and then Paris, where she studied and graduated in architecture. There, she co-founded the label and party series Blocaus in 2012, honing her skill as a DJ and shaping her profile on the Parisian scene for the guts of ten years.
Now, Anetha has evolved into a fully established and globally recognised artist, blurring the lines between art, music and fashion through her artistry and relationships with fashion designers Marine Serre and Rombaut. If anyone can balance the tasks of touring, producing, and co-managing two record labels and a talent agency with poise, it's Anetha.

When this very eccentric, green Mohawk wearing Green Velvet emerged, he sent shock waves throughout the House and Techno music scenes. What was even more intriguing was his background. Born in the southern suburbs of Chicago, IL he has always been an active athlete and focused student determined to follow his dream of becoming a chemical engineer. While he excelled scholastically he was socially introverted, but always committed to finding ways to share his enthusiasm for living.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he began DJ-ing while attending undergraduate school at the University of Illinois and later graduate school at U of C Berkley. Until one day, he realized that while his dream was to become a chemical engineer…his passion…his God given talent was to pursue life in the music industry. That passion and commitment led him back to his hometown, and clearly kept Chicago on the House Music map.
Even today, more than 25years later…it is difficult to go to any electronic music festival or set and not hear music from Green Velvet/Relief Records. Crowds everywhere singalong when notable hits like: Bigger than Prince, Flash, La La Land, Lazer Beams, Live Stream, Preacher Man, Shake and Pop, Sheeple, Suga, and Voicemail, are blasting across the airwaves.
Part of the history of Green Velvet and Relief Records is all about the Love…. Love of the music…Love of the fans…Love of other artists. The history of great releases on thelabel and artists speak to this. There are too many artist collaborations to mention…. but the likes of: Carl Craig, Detlef, Eats Everything, Jay Lumen, Mark Knight, Mason Maynard, Mihalis Safras, Patrick Topping, Prok|Fitch, Riva Starr, Shiba San, and of course …GET REAL, (the ultimatecollaboration of Green Velvet representing Chicago… the birth place of House and Claude VonStroke…growing up in Detroit… the birth place of Techno) attest to his commitment to work with both established and emerging artist.
One thing is very clear, in this industry success and change go hand inhand. Staying current with the scene and his fans is paramount. 2013 was abig year for Green Velvet: Bigger than Prince was voted the #1 UndergroundDance Track of the year by International Dance Music Awards and Green Velvet, the artist, received the Life Time Achievement Award from Beatport. In 2017 Green Velvet was voted the #1 DJ in North America by DJ Mag.
2018is another record-breaking year: Relief Records reached the #1 Label in Beatport Top 100 (all genres), Sheeple, (a collaboration with Green Velvet & Prok|Fitch) held down the #1 spot for 8 weeks.
Green Velvet will introduce yet another innovation to his music arsenal beginning with the 2018 launch of the LA LA LAND STAGES.
“It’s all about our fans, about their love, support, loyalty and encouragement.” More than 25 years and going stronger than ever…no doubt…the best is yet to come!
