Dancing Astronaut’s New Music Friday: Dreya V, Jackie Hollander, Mary Droppinz, Adam Sellouk, Tinlicker, and more (October 10, 2025)
New music highlights from Dancing Astronaut’s Artists to Watch in 2025 Dreya V – On The Record Dreya V‘s newest single, “On The Record,” is out now via Three Six Zero Recordings. “This record felt like it wrote itself,” she shared. “It’s been goin’ off in my sets.” Her latest original follows June’s “Up Front” on Gorgon City’s Realm Records, which has earned massive support from DJs like Chris Lake, Vintage Culture, GENESI and more. – Zach Salafia Jackie Hollander – You Go I Go After teasing it throughout the majority of the year, Jackie Hollander has finally turned in “You Go I Go,” which is out now on Three Six Zero Recordings. Built on catchy melodies with steady rhythms, the track is an undeniably earworm as the San Francisco-based producer continues to establish her place in the scene. Known for her innovative, self-taught production style and commanding live presence, Hollander delivers another testament to her evolving artistry — one that’s already caught the attention of some of the genre’s biggest names and earned her a spot on Dancing Astronaut’s Artists to Watch in 2025 list. – Danielle Carty Mary Droppinz & Casey Club – Sofa Soup Mary Droppinz continues her torrid release run with “Sofa Soup,” her new single alongside Casey Club. “Sofa Soup” is her fourth original release of 2025 following singles like “PRAY” and “PLB (Pretty Little Baby),” which was rinsed out by Excision at Lost Lands. And Droppinz also recently uploaded her set from Elements Festival on her SoundCloud. – Zach Salafia Adam Sellouk & Zerky – Touch It Adam Sellouk follows up his massive collaboration with Anyma, “Girls MIA,” with “Touch It,” his new joint effort with Zerky, out now via Spinnin’ Deep. A staple in Sellouk’s sets since 2023, the Daft Punk-sampled weapon finally receives its long-awaited official release. “Touch It” has already earned early support from John Summit, Mau P, ARTBAT, and more. – Zach Salafia Abstraal, Braynod & Takzee – Hit The Gaas French duo Abstraal have teamed up with Braynod & Takzee for “Hit The Gaas”, a peak-time techno record with memorable hip hop vocals. Built for the dancefloor, the track is a relentless driver that sets the tone for the full Interstellar VA III on Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2025 Henri Bergmann‘s Automatik record label. – Alex Lambeau Obskür & Omar+ – Serious Dublin duo Obskür return with their latest heater, ‘Serious’ alongside Omar+. Serious cements Obskür’s reputation for trailblazing a new era of the UK minimal sound. Following breakout releases like “Bayside” and their Tomike collab “I’ve Arrived,” the track flexes their evolution as well as Omar’s meteoric rise. With Serious, Obskür continue their steady rise from Dublin’s underground to the global dance stage. – Oliver Broek Argy & John Cala – BOOM Argy continues his unstoppable momentum with the release of “BOOM,” a collaboration with John Cala, out now on NEWORLD. The single arrives following the massive success of his New World LP and high-profile collaborations with Anyma, MEDUZA, and Lost Frequencies. For Cala, the track marks another step in his rapid ascent with continued DJ support from Adriatique, CamelPhat, and Solomun. Together, Argy and Cala deliver a release that reinforces NEWORLD’s role as one of the genre’s leading creative hubs. – Alex Lambeau Tinlicker – I Want My Freedom A new era of Tinlicker is here. Alongside the release of their new single, “I Want My Freedom,” the group announced that a new album is on the way, set for release in early 2026. They also revealed that Tinlicker is now officially a trio, formally introducing Hero Baldwin as a full-time member. The single and upcoming album are co-written by all three, who previously collaborated on tracks like “Rebirth” and “Tell Me.” The trio already soft launched their new bandmate with shows featuring the three of them together at Melkweg Amsterdam in July and in London for Tinlicker In The Park at Crystal Palace Bowl — their biggest live show to date. – Zach Salafia Subtronics & Linney – Friends Kicking off the second installment of his upcoming third studio album FIBONACCI, Subtronics unveils the first single, “Friends,” featuring Linney. The track pairs Linney’s heartfelt vocals with Subtronics’ explosive yet melancholic sound design. Centered on themes of connection and loss, “Friends” blends vulnerability with intensity, revealing a more introspective side of his artistry. With FIBONACCI set for release on December 5, this new era finds Subtronics expanding his sonic palette while staying true to the emotional core that defines his music. – Liana Stern Le Youth, Lipless & Hana Fatur – i don’t know what to say Exactly one year following Le Youth’s collaborative project &, the This Never Happened veteran has turned in his first original of the calendar. 2025 has leaned towards the lighter side for him on the release front — including a Childish remix album appearance — but Le Youth has returned in prime form to convert ID6 from Lane 8’s fall mixtape into “i don’t know what to say” alongside Lipless and Hana Fatur. And there’s “more to come,” per his Instagram caption. – Ross Goldenberg Featured image: ENDVRS The post Dancing Astronaut’s New Music Friday: Dreya V, Jackie Hollander, Mary Droppinz, Adam Sellouk, Tinlicker, and more (October 10, 2025) appeared first on Dancing Astronaut. With ‘Silence’, Fede Spamer Sharpens His Sound and ....
Fede Spamer unveils his new single, ‘Silence’ – offering a new addition to his catalogue and the wider Electronic Music landscape, he delivers a production where pulsing details and hard-hitting beats converge, and listeners can experience a track that is overall unique in sound and sonic evolution. For Fede Spamer, this new track comes as the next step in his journey; following his EP ‘Love Mission’ earlier this summer, he has continued to work at pushing himself forward, setting his sights on evolving in both his creativity and place on the scene. Originating from Buenos Aires, Argentina, the set of influences he draws from in his work reflect an Artist with a deep-rooted musicality, inspired by the cultural richness and diversity of his surroundings, there is a clear thread of originality and identity woven into the fabric of his work – giving way to music that feels distinct to him yet primed to bring movement for today’s dancefloors. An accumulation of his musical explorations so far, he has developed a signature sound that speaks to a forward-thinking yet deep-rooted musicality: a fusion now on full display in ‘Silence.’ To begin, a pulsing synth and tight beat form the arrangement, soon introducing a seductive female vocal that cuts through the mix, joined by expanding pads and gritty low-end textures. Then, a staccato synth layers in, adding a refreshing edge to the track as the momentum continues to guide it forward: moving through shifting moments where atmospheric lines and pulsating bassline motifs evolve in tandem, adding warmth and depth to the groove. As the track reaches its conclusion, the hypnotic energy continues to carry through, sustaining tension through subtly shifting dimensions that echo the track’s underlying pulse, and ensure listeners stay locked in until the very end. ‘Silence’ emerges as a showcase of Fede Spamer’s creative instincts and direction moving forward – a display of his signature style and pursuit of original, contemporary sounds, he delivers a track that feels reflective of his current focus, all the while highlighting that evolution and exploration remain at the core of his artistic ambition. So, dive into Fede Spamer’s ‘Silence’ now and be sure to keep this promising Producer and DJ on your radar by keeping up with him via social media. STBAN and Aroa Fernández Unite for Progressive Flamenc....
FLAMENCA Records’ founder STBAN returns with Pa’Siempre, a progressive flamenco rework by Raffa FL featuring Aroa Fernández. Just weeks after his outing on Toolroom Trax, FLAMENCA Records boss STBAN returns to home territory with his latest single ‘PA’SIEMPRE’. Originally a delicate, evocative slice of flamenco house, the track is given a more progressive reworking thanks to a remix from producer Raffa FL. The Italian weaves a haunting topline vocal from famed Spanish flamenco and fusion singer Aroa Fernández into bristling trumpets from Enriquito Trompeta, chugging percussion and Josemi Carmona’s shimmering guitar sections, creating an increasingly taut sense of energy as the track evolves. Every element of the single is precisely crafted, a less is more strategy that depends on flawless instrumentation and a muted but relentless energy. “When I first heard the original track, I felt an immediate connection with its vocal energy and rhythmic foundation,” Raffa FL said. “My approach was to preserve that emotional essence while taking it to a darker, more club-oriented space, with raw percussion and deep basslines. I wanted the remix to have that hypnotic groove that makes you keep dancing, without losing the identity of the original.” Raffa FL is no stranger to the global house scene. Making his debut on FLAMENCA Records, the producer has previously released on Toolroom Records, Lost Records, Roush, Definition:Music, OFF Recordings and Material, with support from Droog, Russ Yallop, Sidney Charles, Matthias Tanzmann, Hector Couto, Cuartero and more. Renowned for her unique way of blending styles like flamenco and jazz with more modern electronic genres, Aroa Fernández has already collaborated with a raft of mainstream artists including El Maka, Dellafuente, La Plazuela, Pepe y Vicio, El Barrio and Los Chicos. She’s equally in demand within the world of traditional and neo-flamenco, sharing stages with Marina Heredia, Chico Pérez, Jorge Pardo, Carlos Benavent, Ketama and Diego del Morao. Sub Focus Announces ‘Contact’ Album with Grimes, John Summit & More— Plus He’s Making Drum & Bass History at Red Rocks
Sub Focus just dropped the news that his brand new album Contact is coming out November 21 through Casablanca Records. The album’s packed with 14 tracks and features an absolutely stacked lineup of collaborators, including Grimes, John Summit, Katy B, bbyclose, Fireboy DML, IRAH, Subsonic, Poppy Baskomb, Connie Constance, Emily Makis, Inez, and several more artists bringing their talents to the project. Click to listen to the album once released on streaming services here. If you’ve been catching any of Sub Focus‘ sets this year, you’ve probably already heard some of this new material. He’s been teasing tracks from Contact throughout his DJ performances, festival slots, and those incredible ‘Circular Sound’ headline shows he’s been taking around the globe. So the hype’s definitely been building for this announcement. This marks Sub Focus’ fourth solo studio album, which is pretty impressive when you consider his track record. His self-titled debut Sub Focus and follow-up Torus both hit certified Silver status, and his 2023 release Evolve cracked the UK Top 40. He also teamed up with fellow Drum & Bass heavyweight Wilkinson back in 2020 for their collaboration album Portals. The visual identity for Contact is seriously cool too. Sub Focus worked with renowned photographer Neil Krug and the design agency Big Active to create the album artwork, vinyl packaging, and overall aesthetic. They’ve gone all-in on a retro futurism vibe, pulling inspiration from space race-era tech and even NASA’s Voyager mission—specifically the Golden Record that was sent into space. It’s a fitting theme that really ties into the album’s cosmic feel. Speaking of cosmic achievements, 2025 has been absolutely massive for Sub Focus. He kicked things off by selling out London’s Alexandra Palace, then delivered his biggest performance yet at Glastonbury Festival, where he closed out the IICON stage. Later this month, he’s bringing his groundbreaking ‘Circular Sound’ production to the US with a show in Los Angeles, followed by what’s sure to be an unforgettable sold-out performance at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre. That Red Rocks gig is particularly historic—he’ll be the first-ever Drum & Bass artist to headline the iconic Denver venue. And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s already locked in for Coachella 2026 as part of the Drum & Bass collective WORSHIP. Yeah, it’s been quite a year. For those who aren’t familiar, Sub Focus (Nick Douwma) —has been a driving force in electronic music for two decades now. His early releases were climbing to the top of the UK dance charts way back in 2005, and he’s never really slowed down since. That debut album Sub Focus dropped in 2009 and went certified Silver, but it was really Torus in 2013 that showed just how far he’d come. That record hit number 11 on the UK Official Albums Chart and spawned some massive singles, including “Tidal Wave” featuring Alpines, which peaked at number 12, plus the top ten bangers “Endorphins” with Alex Clare and “Turn Back Time.” Then came Evolve in 2023, another UK Top 40 success that featured “Ready To Fly,” his Gold-selling collab with Dimension. The collaboration game has always been strong with Sub Focus. Beyond Portals, his 2020 album with Wilkinson that hit number one on the OCC Dance Chart, he’s worked with some serious names. There’s “Desire” with Dimension from 2018, which went certified Platinum. He joined forces with UK duo Chase & Status on “Flashing Lights,” brought in Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke for “Turn It Around,” and collaborated with the incredibly talented MNEK on “Close.” He even produced Example‘s 2010 hit “Kickstarts,” which climbed all the way to number 3 in the UK. While his studio work is undeniably impressive, Sub Focus has built just as much of his reputation on his live performances. His ‘Circular Sound’ audiovisual show has become legendary, taking over iconic venues worldwide, from London’s Alexandra Palace to the Wembley OVO Arena. He’s currently touring across the globe right now, so if you want to catch him live, head over to subfocus.com for the full list of dates. Full tracklisting for new album Contact: Ecuador (feat. The underground’s most revered institution is back! CircoLoco, the Ibiza-born phenomenon that has shaped dance floor culture for over two decades, returns to Miami on December 6th for what promises to be the defining nightlife event of Art Basel. In partnership with Teksupport, this Factory Town takeover will showcase everything that makes CircoLoco legendary: uncompromising curation, boundary-pushing production, and a dance floor experience that strips away everything except pure, unadulterated music. Dutch powerhouses ANOTR bring their infectious energy alongside Detroit’s music innovator Seth Troxler, while Dixon of Innervisions fame demonstrates why he remains house music royalty. The desert sounds of Bedouin will transport dancers to otherworldly realms, as Swiss duo Adriatique weave their signature melodic tapestries. The night deepens with the on-fire sensation Mau P representing the new Dutch wave, while Brazil’s Beltran adds South American fire to the mix. The collaboration between Âme vs Jimi Jules promises to be one of the evening’s most anticipated moments, alongside sets from PAWSA, the driving force behind Solid Grooves. French underground collective Apollonia will showcase their vinyl-only artistry, while Parisian selector Chloé Caillet brings her impeccable taste to Miami’s humidity. Amsterdam’s Chris Stussy represents the deeper side of house, and CircoLoco resident Rony Seikaly ensures the brand’s DNA pulses through every moment. The global scope continues with amapiano pioneer Desiree, Romanian minimal masters Arapu vs Priku, and vinyl purists O.BEE vs Tomas Station. New York’s Mink adds hometown grit, while Miguelle & TONS from Two And A Half Cats and Italy’s Ageless round out a lineup that reads like electronic music’s hall of fame. CircoLoco has always been more than just exceptional lineups. What started as a Monday after-hours session at Ibiza’s legendary DC-10 has evolved into a global cultural force that transcends music. The brand has sparked collaborations across fashion, art, and technology, even launching CircoLoco Records in partnership with Rockstar Games. Its no-frills no-phones philosophy has created one of the world’s most respected dance floors, where industry titans and underground heroes share the same space. This ethos transforms every CircoLoco event into something deeper than entertainment. Calvin Harris Accuses Financial Advisor of $22.5 Million Real Estate Fraud in Hollywood
Scottish superstar DJ alleges longtime financial adviser misappropriated funds for failed entertainment complex project Calvin Harris, one of the world’s highest-paid DJs, has filed legal action against his longtime financial advisor, accusing him of stealing $22.5 million to fund what the DJ’s attorneys describe as a “boondoggle” real estate project in Hollywood, California. The Scottish music producer, whose real name is Adam Wiles, filed an arbitration demand in Los Angeles Superior Court against Thomas St. John, his financial adviser of more than a decade. Harris alleges that St. John induced him to invest millions in a doomed Hollywood real estate development without properly disclosing the project’s risks or his own financial interests. The Failed CMNTY Culture Campus Project The disputed investment is related to the “CMNTY Culture Campus” project, which was planned as a massive 460,000 square-foot development in the heart of Hollywood. The complex was designed to serve musicians, recording engineers, entertainers, and other creative professionals, featuring recording studios, artists’ lounges, and office spaces. According to Harris’s legal team, St. John presented the project as a legitimate investment opportunity but failed to reveal crucial information about the development’s viability and his own role in the venture. The DJ’s attorneys claim that St. John’s true intention was “simply to steal” the funds from Harris. Allegations of Deception and Misappropriation In the legal filing, Harris contends that his financial advisor did not provide adequate information about the investment and concealed his true intentions regarding the Hollywood project. The DJ alleges that St. John misappropriated the $22.5 million for personal gain rather than using the funds for their intended purpose. An attorney representing Thomas St. John has disputed Harris’s allegations, arguing that the DJ was an active participant in pursuing the development opportunity. The defense maintains that Harris was aware he was one of several investors in the project and that he willingly participated in the real estate venture. This conflicting stories suggests that the case may hinge on what information was disclosed to Harris and whether he was fully informed about the risks and structure of the investment.
